The doors closed, music settled in and stretched from the barn to the preacher, and then there was Megan, radiant, confident, and calm, walking up the aisle toward the man who had captured her heart. Carson, who once was solidly in the “guy that’s just a mutual friend with MY friend” category, was now the one standing under blue skies in front of family and friends at the top of that aisle, waiting for his bride to join him and begin their forever life together.
The Condrey Wedding was ushered in by a cold spring morning in March, soft pink blooms exploding on branches coming back to life after months of winter. Zimmerwald Estate Barn & Grainery was the perfect backdrop for the day, and could only be outmatched by the kindness and warmth of the owners, the Carpenter family. Husband and wife, Craig and Lalisa, along with their grown daughter Katie – who was both the wedding planner and also provided the ahhhhmazing wedding cakes – could not have been more welcoming or attentive that Saturday, and their love of people and Jesus truly shined through both the venue itself and each conversation with them.
After a ceremony soaked in the goodness of God’s word and His truths about the marriage covenant, Carson and Megan were pronounced Man and Wife, and we had the opportunity to get away and snap a few more portraits of just the two of them, which turned out to be some of my favorites of the whole day!
The rest of March 16th was filled up with memory making: Megan’s mom leading a special dance during the reception for all the kiddos (“Joy“, complete with choreography, which the kids LOVED); Megan’s brother, Miles (The Preacher) taking care of all the official marriage license paperwork and checking it all over at least twice “just to make sure”; family and friends filling up the reception barn with dancing, cheers, and “Congratulations!”; Megan’s daddy holding her close for a special dance just the two of them; and at the very end, the people who love Megan and Carson most, lined up with smiles and sparklers to send them off into their new adventure!
Carson and Megan, Thank you for inviting me into your wedding day! I don’t take lightly the privilege of getting to create images of the day you started out on such a Grand Adventure together…I’m so grateful to have been there, and I hope these pictures always remind you of the immense goodness of His gifts and of His great love for you! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
