Christmas time is my favorite season of all. I cherish the wonder of it, of celebrating the birth of a baby King, of a mighty Savior born so vulnerable and small, so unlike how you might ever think He would come. Without Christmas, there would be no Easter, and that changes everything. “A weary world rejoices” indeed.
I shared much more about how Advent stirs my heart in this post, titled “Joy and Waiting“. Maybe it will encourage and spark your heart this Christmas season, too?
Another reason that I adore Christmas is for it’s warmth, magic, coziness, and peace. And I love finding simple ways to bring those feelings into our little home. I would say that I’m just now finding a decorating style that I really feel comfortable and excited about, and this Christmas, I made it a point to try and incorporate that style into our space, making intentional, thought-out purchases for pieces that felt classic + clean + usable year after year.
I am NOT saying that you need to buy new things every year or spend lots of money…all of the things you’ll see around our home were either repurposed from the Christmas collection we already had, were bought within our budget (three cheers for the Target dollar section!), or were special family pieces that were given to us to cherish and love. Speaking of special pieces, I’m including a little source list at the end of this post if you love some of the artwork you see and want to check out the makers who created it! ?
A few things have changed around our home since this Christmas house tour circa 2015 (shelves in the living room! more plants! coffee table makeover!) but a lot is still the same, and I love looking back to see how we’ve grown in this space and filled it with more memories!
While we opted not to get a Christmas tree this year (especially with some of the travel we have planned), I love how much cheer is still sprinkled around inside these four walls, and I hope you love this little tour as much as I’ve loved compiling it for you! ?❤️?
